Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Alicia Leslie is a physician and President of Central Kentucky Addiction Treatment. She manages every patient as she believes patients deserve individualized treatment plans and personalized care. Dr. Alicia‘s 27 years as an emergency room physician exposed her to the growing epidemic of opioid addiction, along with the lack of treatment resources, so she felt the need to join a practice where patients are treated by a caring physician with professionalism. Dr. Alicia started addiction treatment and management in 2014. She became board-certified in Addiction Medicine in 2019 by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. In July 2022, she bought the practice where she had worked for 8 years in order to expand treatment services for patients. She has a special interest in pregnancy opioid management.
Dr. Alicia graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1995 followed by her Emergency Medicine Residency at the prestigious University of Chicago. She worked in academic medicine as an Assistant Professor well as in private hospitals in Chicago over 13 years before moving to Kentucky. She was an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Kentucky Medical Center until she started her work in Addiction Medicine. She left the university system in order to work in smaller Kentucky communities while building her Addiction Medicine practice. She is now working full time in Addiction Medicine in order to fulfill her passion for helping others.
Dr. Alicia is a happily married mother of boy/girl twins. She has lived in Lexington, KY since 2008.
Recently, Dr. Alicia Leslie was featured on LEX 18, discussing her love for the Kentucky Derby! She has gone to every derby for the past 20 years and calls it a “magical experience.” She also shared how she views her treatment, saying, “ You help that one person, you’re not just helping them, you help everyone whose lives they touch.”
